Welcome Table/ Sunday Skiffle with Ukulele

This could actually be the 3rd installment of Sunday Skiffle Ukulele Music for me.

if you like, Read On:

If I had to write about skiffle music I'd say.....
-it's punk rock with out the distortion
-it's an inclusive and infectious type of music...that encourages folks to learn a handful of chords...then join along!
-It takes gospel music that I love and caffeinates it.....which is a good thing (add a whoop and a holler)
-It takes old folky music and drops high octane fuel into its tank.....which is a good thing (add a honk on the kazoo or harmonica)
-lots of songs can be skiffle-ized eh?
-I dig some of the beatles music and early elvis.....but....but....i like Lonnie Donegan more :) doh!!!

Yeah, the first two were songs - kids of the black hole by Adolescents and the Worlds a mess by X. I love all the bands you list - my heart goes out to the minutemen though. Double Nickels ranks as one of my all time fav LP's. Can't wait to hear what you come up with!

and yes, I used to listen to 'double nickels' over and over again from the time i was 15 to the time i was 21 or so.....probably in the top 5 of all punk albums.....as far as i'm concerned :)

Hi Mjs, first off....thanks so much man.... secondly, yeah, my wheels are turning....I was thinking maybe a song by X or the minutemen.....I'm gonna come back to this idea after I record a uke hip hop song for Seeso's new contest..... these two bands you mentioned at first....are they more recent....haven't heard of them.....the stuff i grew up on was: X black flag the minutemen firehose slovenly (bay area eh?) the meat puppets (right here from sunny az) etc. etc. cheers, T
