There you go. The whole story revolves around anti-mystery and anti-fantasy, and personally I believe that it's going to be both. What makes you think the witches are even real in the first place? Umineko basically completely mindscrews you about the concept of reality, and that's what makes it interesting.

Have you noticed that higurashi tryes to make us belive in curses and umineko in magic? I thoug that id never belive in such childish things, but aftter watching, reading and playing i started do getting scared of dark and lauthing crazy for nothing XD cool`, huh?
