errr the BBC mciro was a fast 8 bit - this should not be this slow. I bet this was not programmed that well. Look at Rocket Raid on an original BBC and see the scrolling there - full screen and smooth

Considering the limitations of the hardware, in retrospect this was pretty impressive for the time. Even though it didn't play so well, a simultaneous two player game running in Mode 2 with nine animated sprites onscreen at once was quite an achievement.
