Wo Jo Hum Me - Momin Khan by Shishir Parkhie DD Bharti Live

This is a famous Ghazal of Momin Khan Momin Composed and rendered by Shishir parkhie for a special Ghazal program Guldasta, which was telecast all over on Doordarshan's DD Bharti channel and later also on local Doordarshan channel.in the year 2004.

As I was an approved and graded artiste of All India Radio where the compositions of only approved or legendary poets are allowed, I had composed this Ghazal long back when I was only 15 Years old in 1983. At that time I had not heard legendary singers like Beghum Akhtar . I was again requested to perform this Ghazal by the doordarshan where again only the poetry of approved or legendary poets like Momin are allowed. So I tried to recollect my 20 years old composition and recorded it for the DD live in the year 2004 without any practice.

It is an instant live recording. Anyway, Legendary singers will remain legendary. Nobody can take their place but at the same time new upcoming artistes should also be encouraged. In the era of hip shaking and disco music at least they are trying to preserve the tradition of Ghazals !

GUSTAKHI MUAFF HO !

Woh to hum mein tum mein karar tha..
vo jo hammein tum mein qaraar thaa tumhein yaad ho ke na yaad ho
vahii yaanii vaadaa nibaah kaa tumhein yaad ho ke na yaad ho


vo naye gile vo shikaayatein vo maze maze kii hikaayatein
vo har ek baat pe roothnaa tumhein yaad ho ke na yaad ho

kabhii hammein tum mein bhii chaah thii, kabhii ham se tum se bhii raah thii
kabhii ham bhii tum bhii the aashnaa, tumhein yaad ho ke na yaad ho

jise aap ginte the aashnaa jise aap kahate the baavafaa

مومن خان مومن
وہ جو ہم ميں تم قرار تھا تمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہو
وہي يعني وعدہ نباہ کا تمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہو

وہ جو لطف مجھ پہ تھے پيش تر وہ کرم کہ تھا مرے حال پر
مجھے سب ہے ياد ذرا ذرا تہمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہو

وہ نئے گلے وہ شکايتيں وہ مزے مرے کي حکايتيں
وہ ہر ايک بات پہ روٹھنا تمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہو

کبھي بيٹھے سب ميں جو روبو تو اشارتوں ہي گفتگو
وہ بيان شوق کا بر ملا تمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہو

ہوئے اتفاق سے گر بہم تو وفا جتائے کو دم بہ دم
گلہ ملامت اقربا تمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہو

کوئي ايسي بات اگر ہوئي کہ تمہارے جي کو بري لگي
تو بياں سے پہلے ہي بھولنا تمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہو

کبھي ہم ميں تم ميں بھي چاہ تھي کبھي ہم ميں تم ميں بھي راہ تھي
کبھي ہم بھي تم سے تھے آشنا تمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہو

سنو ذکر ہے کئي سال کا کہ کيا اک آپ نے وعدہ تھا
سو نباہنے کا تو ذکر کيا تمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہو

کہا ميں بات وہ کوٹھے کي مرے دے صاف اتر گئي
تو کہا کہ جانے مري بلا تمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہوs

وہ بگڑ وصل کي رات کا وہ نہ ماننا کسي بات کا
وہ نہيں نہيں کي ہر آن ادا تمہيں ياد ہو نہ ياد ہو

جسے آپ گنتے تھے آشنا جسے آپ کہتے تھے با وفا
ميں وہي ہوں مومن مبتلا تمہيں ياد ہو کہ نہ ياد ہو

MOMIN KHAN MOMIN (1800 1851):

Born in Delhi Momin was famous for his Urdu Ghazals and was also called Hakeem Momin Khan because he was a physician.

He is known for his particular persianized style and the beautiful use of his takhlus. The British offered him a job of a teacher but he never worked under anyone. He also preached a revolt against the British.

According to legend, Mirza Ghalib (his contemporary and also a rival) offered Momin his entire Diwan collection of poetry in exchange for a particular verse of Momin.

Tum mere paas hote ho goya
jab koi doosra nahin hota.

Good composition.

If you did it at 15 before even listening to begum Akhtar's, that's really impressive. I like your composition of this ghazal more than Nayyara Noor's, and she has sung some of my all time favorite composed ghazals.
