  • aye, you're right, at that point the trench is not 3m deep, it did however get to 3m further up the rise. Our local regulations state that a trench must be benched or battered above 1.5m and every 1.5m the deeper it gets. In unstable ground sureing would be used but in this instance it was not required. Post your video mate, I'd love to see it.

  • If that trench is 3m deep, i'm 8ft tall.

    I drive these machines too, and at the moment i'm digging 3.5m deep trenches, by law the trench has to be supported with sheet piles and whaler frames for the men to go in the hole without fear of collapse.

    The trench in your vid is battered back which is correct also.

    I'll get a vid of the trench i'm talking about to show you a real 3m+ trench
