The 30 does sound better than the 50

I think it is the Boss making the fatness.
I got the same amp and on its own it sounds quite similar to an old Bassman or an old Marshall Bluesbreaker.
It looks to me that you using a JCM800 bass cab. Is this right? I'm mostly using a Musicman 212-cab for my MIG-30 and a JCM800 215 bass cab for my MIG-60.

But the box I used was a guitar JCM800 with 4 stock Celestions.
Only modification is that I wired it to 4 ohm. To me it sounds more powerful."
