Is it absolutely necessary to apply a sealant after the Stain? or would it come off to easily? and how about if it gets wet? without a proper sealant will the stain just come off?
@RoseMarySproule i disagree, once you touch the wood with anything the patina is gone.Remover is nasty and hard to deal with and dont breath too much of it or youll have a kid with 3 heads.anyway even if you use remover you still end up sanding lots. I sand for the zen of it, thats when the dreams start when im in my sanding mode. I really get into sanding.it becomes like a drug. I love wood
never sand, unless extremly nessesary, you will lose all patina and beauty of your piece. Just use med grade steelwool to clean up that last bit of residue. Applying a bit of pessure you are fine sanding with the steelwool with will do a nice job and not ruin the peice

why cant you just sand all of it off? Why do you have to use the chemical first and scrap off the stuff?
