The Cove Trailer

Winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, The Cove follows a high-tech dive team on a mission to discover the truth about the international dolphin capture trade as practiced in Taiji, Japan. Utilizing state-of-the-art techniques, including hidden microphones and cameras in fake rocks, the team uncovers how this small seaside village serves as a horrifying microcosm of massive ecological crimes happening worldwide.


The Cove exposes not only the tragedy of dolphin slaughtering in Japan, but also the dangerously high levels of mercury in dolphin meat and seafood, the cruelty in capturing dolphins for entertainment, and the depletion of our oceans fisheries by worldwide seafood consumption. We also see how the mandate of the International Whaling Commission has been manipulated by the Japanese Fisheries Agency for its benefit and its subsequent effect on the rest of the world.

"Japanese officials announced laboratory test of cetacean meat at a press conference. "We tested meat samples bought at supermarkets in Japan, the Japan Times said. Whale & Dolphin meat had mercury content 10 TIMES above Japan Health Ministry's advisory limit, while the methylmercury content was 10.3 TIMES over the human limit. Other samples found 16x & 12x above Human safety"

It means: PRO-Whalers hurt Japan. Anti-Whalers protect Japan's children.

@rano0672 I have suspicious on atomic bomb invention. Fermi was whom played an important role in the Manhattan project. Einstein, didn't take part in it although his relativity work helped much in the progress.

I heard different sources that either Szilard's work got stolen by British spies or he sent them himself to the US Army.

@binbashLinuxAhole Leo Szilard invented the atomic bomb. He was a hungarian jew. He wrote a letter to Franklin D. Roosevelt with Albert Einstein sign. He wrote that America must be first built the atomic bomb and he worked in Manhattan project. Yes, he also studied and lived in Berlin. He left Budapest in 1919 because of Horthy regime. Just a little history. But you are right.

I am not in anyone's side, so much since I do not hold Japan entirely accountable for the whales being hunted. I understand that Japan does not entirely hunt whales or even eats them. However the sole reason why I wish for this to stop is because Cetaceans are the 2nd most endangered marine animals in the world. (1st being the Sirenia)
