hermeticism is where the idea of vibration comes from. Medieval text don't include vibration instructions because hermeticism wasn't rediscovered until the renaissance. Also the idea is more esoteric than vibrate your throat vibrations. The way vibrations are thought of nowadays comes from new thought a sort of occult proto-new age.
