Education tops talking points!!

I agree with what he is saying, but the name calling and mocking voices do nothing but hurt his argument.

sean Hannity is very entertaining . He`s the rocky of broadcasting!!!

If the entire news media wasn't so fucking corrupt, we would have a show with a passionate Conservative, a passionate Liberal, and a passionate Independent, passionate Libertarian etc. on it. That would be the best show in this genre. At least 2 or 3 different angles being debated. Instead, they stick us with partisan hacks. It's all a big sham. The guys at the top are friends and don't give a shit. They have a lot of common interests. Pro-war, pro-Fed, pro- quite a few other things.

@259wallyjames But he isn't a newsman, this was an opinion show, with a good deal of comedy sprinkled in. Just like Hannity's or O'Rielly's shows.

This fucking guy.
Brah, broadcasting in the technical, specific way it is brought up here, has nothing to do with the first amendment, though that is not the argument Keith Olberman is even using as a smaller part of the whole, let alone making.
You missed the point. Dobbs is not an asshole because broadcasting has nothing to do with the first amendment, but because the first amendment goes both ways. There is nothing to protect you from other people saying they don't like what you said.
-
Report & editorial are a big part of journalism as newsboy hats & IBM typewriters. The 1st amendment doesn't protect people from criticism. I get that. What I'm saying is that their stupidity is just as protected & they're to be recognized for journalism just as much as say, Kronkite (not as revered but recognized AS nonetheless).
An argument is point is a premise is a thesis is an idea. Stop mincing semantics. Otherwise you'll be as hypocritical as Keith was here.
-
Broadcasting is different than say, speaking to someone in your home, and this issue has been somewhat controversial since... the radio was created. And I don't think what you're saying Keith is saying, is what he is saying... but like I said, that particular part of the "point" is both subject to semantics, and basically inconsequential.
That statement is an aside (if that), and not the crux, or rather, important part of the "argument"' which is why I said that you missed the point.
-
@bpa619 Point, argument. Who's mincing semantics now? You sound kinda silly.
What I'm saying is that broadcast journalism is protected by the 1st amendment too. While it's true that the gov't doesn't effect Dobbs's or Beck's ability to say what they want or generate their brands of "journalism", Keith is incorrect in saying that they aren't protected by the same, Bill of Rights endowments. Keith wasn't being completely honest. That's my point. How'd you miss it?
-
Wow.
Keith is not making an argument, he is making a point... which has nothing to do with semantics. His statement about the first amendment and broadcasting is (more or less) inconsequential, though that particular part of his point is (in a way) an argument of semantics.
He is pointing out the hypocrisy and stupidity of statements made by Lou Doubs, because protesting a broadcaster or his/her broadcast is not "trampling all over the first amendment."
Anyone who defends Hannity after this needs meds.
