  • I'm disappointed you finally decided to make this Mini a two-seater.

    I thought that main reason of selecting Clubman was retaining 4 seats.

    Pity.

  • No, we never intended to have 4 seats. I didn't really like the rear seats as it was. The clubman was so we could have a cargo area in the back. It looks like this will work out well.

  • @marionrickard and what about removing the gasoline tank and use some cargo space to place the batteries, would they fit?

    You can always use the two back seats as cargo space - but you can't use the cargo space to sit 2 people, so I think It's a better idea, if doable-.

  • I won't comment on the slowness of this video series but A diesel is not cheaper to run than a battery. An EV will cost only a few cents per mile.

    The only way for a diesel to be cheaper is if you steal the diesel fuel from someone.

  • Conversions take time to do. Better to have too much information to go off instead of very little information.

  • Total waste of time this conversion and the really slow progress over 31 videos! We still haven't seen the finished product or anything of great interest.

    Have a search for the Ford Escort EV conversion, I think it is 6 videos and straight to the point without being as boring as this series.

    A diesel is cheaper to run than battery and you're never limited to a small range.

  • They would also be lower if you use electricity supplied from Bord Gáis, and lower again with Airtricity, and even lower again if you use renewables at home. How much lower, I dont know; Im searching for that info. Love d vids. P.S Any chance youd give me the car rather than selling it? )

  • I thought you would be interested to know that your roadster would have 75.56 gKm-1 CO2 emissions, low especially when you consider its power compared to its petrol equivalent. This is based on an average of 538 gKwh-1 CO2 here in Ireland with electricity supplied from ESB. This is based on emissions for 2007. Its an average so at night when you would charge the emissions may be lower.
