I'm not religious, at all.

I enjoy studying history. One thing I really like about studying history is that the more you study it, the more interesting it becomes. But not if you are hoping for a preferred outcome. That's when it gets ugly and confusing.

Religion has played a major role in modern human history. And to appreciate recent humanity you must study religion and its significances.

Natural history is fascinating to study, too. Albeit, less frustrating.

@pljanes Yes. While you are in Deuteronomy check out 32:39. God says He kills and He makes alive. If you cannot also make alive, you probably shouldn't be killing anyone. Mankind is not Godkind. Mankind is forbidden to make graven images, yet God instructed them to be made (Cherubim) for the ark of the covenant. You've got to learn your place in life.

@kvrockon What you are saying makes G-d out to be a hypocrite. The Cherubim were not graven images set up for idiolatry. But the important thing here is that Xtianity is idolatry, and a three person G-d is polytheism. Keep throwing the pagan stuff out and at the end you will arive at Judaism. @pljanes Thank you for your comment. The original Hebrew word translated as God in our english bibles is Elohim. The "im" suffix denote plurality as an "s", or "es" does in English. Problem is: It was "religious" people that translated the bible. That is, people with previous opinions. God is a family of mighty ones with a Supreme head known as the Father. "Let us make man in our image". (Gen. 1:26)

@noelgod even more, almost 90% of anual celebrations, be civic or religious, have nothing to do with Christian ideas. And then you take a look at the Xtian´s beliefs and 75% have a pagan origin and the other 25% are a well told lie... So, you are against human´s social life!!!

the video is ok until the end of it. It is fantastic to know the historical development of this celebration, but then the puritan christian moral comes and spoils it. Why can´t people stop evangelizing other people who just want to know the objective history of certain day???

If you believe this then you should also be against Christmas and Halloween. But, besides that, I have never met anyone, Christian or otherwise, opposed to Easter. And I'm going to go one step further, please do not censor, I want to know the reaction, and say I wish we could have the old celebration back, minus the human sacrifice. It was much more beautiful and meaning than the celebration we have today. How can a celebration of life not be beautiful? I believe Christianity ruined it.

You mean Catholicism. Before the Catholic church got a hold of the Torah, the only thing the Jews celebrated at that time of year was Passover (which G_d commanded). The Catholic church was the one burning Christians at the stake. Remember Tisdale, and all the other men who were trying to write the Bible based off of the Geneva Bible. Most all killed by the Catholic church! "Christians" don't worship Mary, and pray to the dead.

Easter is a cute fantasy for children where rabbits carry and distribute eggs like a postman bringing your mail. Religion turns it into a complete absurdity about an invisible man in the sky who condemns man and woman with original sin because they ate his apples, he then secretly impregnating an unknown married woman with him as her child so that he can be born to kill myself as a sacrifice to him to save you from the sin he originally condemned you to. Grownups actually believe this shit!

Eostre's eggs did not replace anything Christian...She was the goddess of spring, representing new birth and fertility, thus the eggs (ovum).. Her totem animal was the hare, this is where the bunny rabbit originates. A hare is her totem because it too is noted for its fertile nature. Long before Christianity kidnapped her and locked her away, Eostre, along with many other nature goddesses...ruled not only Easter, but Christmas.
