  • @uvauva2 By the way the movie was great. Im a commedian as well and i often tell jokes about science, religion, evolution, and creation. Thats the beuty of agnostisism. Which is why I left a very evangelical religion years ago and i now am a uniterian universalist. So in a way i was just adding a little humor into this discussion when i asked to take my wife to the movies. I think laghing is better than religious wars. Dont you think

  • I would like to thank the host of this site for allowing these discussions Mr Hitchensas well as other free thinkers would be proud of the influence they achieved

  • I tried watching this to listen to some great debating from Hitch, but Lane Craig's line that he claims that Atheists believe that rape is morally acceptable just sickened me (although I was able to stomach all his blatant lies before that). It's people like him that make this world diseased and unlivable. Sorry Hitch, I cannot continue listening to that repugnant man.

  • @freatork1 I say this because the chinese have several stories of what appears to be this inundation. Another is the story of the great Yu which is far different than the bible story. It implies that their experience during this event was only rivers swelling in great amounts with no account of rain. The story of Huang ti and nu hua contaians similar lore as the bible. In fact it tells of 7 colored stones being offered which some feel lines up with the rainbow offering in the bible inreverse.

  • @freatork1 In my opinion its for 2 possible reasons. 1 is that the chinese like every one else are descendants of the 3 sons of Noah. 2 which may be the more plausible conclusion is that the chinese people did not origionate at one time. There were survivors of the flood in china but not many and the Han came later from Sumeria where this legend most likley began and influenced it on the rest of the earlier surviving cultures in that region .

  • @gocrazy432 does not exist, then there is no way for god to know something which does not exist! Does this mean he is not all knowing? I don't think so. omniscience is knowledge of only and all true and real propositions , we are expressing the extent of God's knowledge, not its mode. So being all knowing means you know everything that is to be known. Since the future does not exist, there is nothing to be known about it.

  • @freatork1 The second story talks about women getting involved in sexual perversions with animals before their flood thus bearing murderous monsters. Interestingly the Bible talks about pre flood angels rebelling against God and getting sexually involved with women producing a similar situation. This to me is a similar story with the exeption that most native american cultures did not accept angels and demonds the way people in the west did. They viewed them as objects of nature. Natural spirits

  • @gocrazy432 "You're double thinking and forgetting about the omni-abilities."

No, what is happening here is that atheists misinterpret the theistic meaning of the omni abilities. For example, you say "god knows who will do evil" as if god knows an actual infinite number of things. Most theists espouse the A-theory of time, which says that events are temporal beings. The future does not exist in such a theory, rather, the future is just an idea, a potential present. Since in this view the future

  • @freatork1 Interesting question. A great work was produced in 2002 by Mark Isaak called Flood Stories from around the world. In particular there are 2 stories told by jicarilla Apache. Story 1 like the story of the 8 immortals in Chinese taoist lore it mentions 8 specific survivors who actually remained humans.

  • The flaw in logic of Craig is that he assumes there has to be an objective purpose in life and an objective morality. Life is a coincidence therefore there can be no objective purpose. there is also no such thing as objective morality.

Also, You cannot prove something does not exist. The burden of proof is on the person who proposes the idea. If I was to say there was a flying spaghetti monster, you would not be able to disprove that. The proof that it doesn't exist is due to the lack of it.
