i know you are supposed to appreciate spoon for the minimalist genious of it. but i only seem to like the hooky stuff they make.

The thing about Spoon is that they are a band that somehow find depth in making straightforward, catchy rock music. In other words, if you enjoy Spoon because they have great hooks, you are getting the point. Only difference between them and a lot of other bands is their songs don't get old after 2 listens. My favorite record they made was A Series of Sneaks, which was released like 10 years ago. That record is great - each track is a 2 minute sucker punch. It's a smile with bloody teeth.
