I have a Magnavox, built in Dec '65, that I just dismantled. Do you still need any parts? I know everything still works but, just like yours, the controls are a bit touchy.

Nice equipment, I see they have everything built onto 2 seperate chassis. I have a 1969 Magnavox AstroSonic. By then they were fitting everything on 1 chassis with 1 pc board. It probably reduced their manufacturing costs. Your heat sink is also much larger, maybe it has more power output. The amp drives a pair of 15" woofers and 4 x 10 tweeter horns built into a huge cabinet. I also have a 1954 Magnavox that is built on 2 chassis, like yours but all tubes.

I have 4 large transistors in that heat sink. I've seen videos and pictures of others that have 2 heat sinks and 8 or 9 transistors. I also see a few ''top hat'' shaped( about 4 ) on the radio chassis. Transistors were only around about 15 years back then.

did you mean carpentry skills? I do plain on making a like a console cabinet or finding like a suitable dresser to put it in. something of that nature.
Hopefully ill find a suitable turntable to connect to it someday.
