The program was aired Oct. 11, 1953, and the guest is Nell Brisendine of Atlanta, Georgia http://www.tv.com/whats-my-line/episode-176/episode/94072/summary.html . Panelists are Dorothy Kilgallen, Steve Allen, Arlene Francis, and Bennett Cerf.

Other amusing Steve Allen moments include his interrogations of the woman who repaired zippers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMo42IxJKaM , the man who sold maternity clothes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOXuy3DMc0M , and the man who made bread boxes (the question "is it bigger than a bread box?" was a classic inanity of Allen's on the program) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q9tXR7jmL8 . Right after Allen got married, his new bride Jayne Meadows was the mystery guest, whom he failed to recognize http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iL7K1t5Im4 . Allen himself was a mystery guest on different occasions: Dec. 27, 1953 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRg4Gn52kiQ , May 18, 1958 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_Sq9jsWXrs , and in this episode http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1qO2szqKrs on Oct. 4, 1964, when host John Daly blunders and gives away his identity.

  • I have been going 'round and 'round for days watching all these What's My Line clips and I've come to a decision: I need to work on my penmanship! Also, I absolutely adore Steve Allen and Arlene Francis! While I'm sad that I can't watch this on television anymore, I'm grateful to all the people who have uploaded all these clips. It's brought me many hours of enjoyment!

  • @dagwood39 it's a good question, classifies the size of the product.

  • "Would what you put into this be a solid rather than a liquid?" :)

  • @rachelortiz For sure, one of the funniest.
