these days the "great footabllers" would just kick the ball away and run into defenders and win freekicks/ penalties. king kenny would slice the ball away and the defender would never even be able to touch him

For his achievements with Celtic and especially Liverpool, Dalglish is the best British player ever. He had a longer career than Best . But for sheer, outrageous talent and ability not even Dalglish could match that. Best was a good team player too. And he had an end product. Anyway, they were both great players - 'n not ENGLISH :).

Dalglish's contribution on and off the pitch will never be matched.

squirehendrix - But the pitches weren't like carpets in those days. If Kenny was playing in this era he would still be miles above the rest, he would have put in the effort to get the fitness levels that are needed in todays game.

Dalglish was the greatest player to come out of the British Isles..! 2nd to no-one.. Best was great, but he gave it up at 26 so has no right to have the tag as the best..! He also played with one team in one league - Dalglish done it in two and won everything.!
Kenny Dalglish respeceted football, what it gave him, the fans and his team mates, Best could only give a toss about himself and what was in it for him.!

Well said mate!! I agree 100% .I think Ryan Giggs would be well above Best as well.
