1. You will need to exercise
2. You will need to incorporate portion control
3. You will need to watch carbohydrate intake
4. You will get over all your mourning: i.e. I can never eat large meals again, I can never eat a steak again, etc..
You will get over all your fears and life will be good!
Excellent advice. I've been wanting the surgery for a long time. Still can't find a way to pay for it. But thanks. Will keep this in mind for whenever I get it.

Hi - I've been following your videos for some time now. I'm one of those newbies you're talking to - just had my surgery last Tuesday, July 21 (I had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy). Your advice here is great, and I really appreciate the informative videos. I"ve just started videos of my own, if you're interested in checking out the observations of a newbie :)

Great advice for all newbies out there... I would agreee with the points made and it is more about a long term lifestyle change. I cant comment on bands but I'm RNY and can say that I can & do eat steak - poviding that it is good quality cut of meat (fillet) well cooked and chewed well (small portion) Steak is an excellent nutitional source... I beleive the key to success for any newbie is listening to your body, know your limits and taking valuable advice from great people like you :-)
