An explosion in the number of homeless across Japan has been going on with Japan's economy flatlined for 2 decades now. The blue tarp cities are easy to spot and cover so much of the ground next to the walkways. With little safety net and really no way to climb out, it's a sad reality that's glossed over by the ivory tower textbooks on Japan.
They seem to me to be fortunate to at least have communities in japan. Where i live they're restricted to traveling the railways. Is there a lot of crime in these little villages? Seems like a nice play to live.
