@goph000 I guess that all depended on where you lived during the time. Where are grew up arcades were pretty much empty but packed during holidays and town functions. Simply because we had to do something to kill the time. But yeah I remember a few ridiculously long lines when Lethal Enforcers, T2 and Mortal Kombat hit the arcades for the first time. It Seems even Nintendo ridiculed it's customers. "ONLY jerks with pocket protectors and taped glasses play this shit."

@PopcornCoolie Actually it was the big craze back then. Arcades were always packed from open to close and you had to wait in line to play any game.

One thing I always wondered about was why the hell is the Reset and Power buttons black? I've never seen that before, and this is an official Nintendo commercial from the 80s no less.
