One of these juveniles has occupied the tidal flats at Spanish Banks in Vancouver for at least two years; the other I recognize but don't have nearly as many photos of it.

  • After 2 years is it still a juvinile? I have no idea how long they live.

Are those buildings in the background Jerico?

  • Bald eagles keep don't achieve adult colouring (white head and tail) until they are about five years old. That's when they go about finding a mate, building a nest and starting to have chicks. They live to be about 30 and mate for life.

The white building in the background is the Jericho Sailing Centre, yes. Right by it is the Jericho nest where I film those bald eagle mates.

  • lol, unnoticed? that's funny

  • I know! It's insane. SO MANY TIMES I'll have the camera pointed and people will be like, "So, what are you filming?" and I'll be like, "It's a bald eagle, see?" Then they usually proceed to freak out. "Honey! honey, come here and look, it's a bald eagle!!"
