This is a really rough demo of using Mac OS 10.5 Leopard and BootCamp for the installation of ubuntu gutsy on my MacBook Pro.
It seems that the ATI graphic card prevented me from using brand new compiz fusion plugins...
I will try again.

Boot camp with Ubuntu 8, on a mac book pro 15" 2Ghz dual

(~2 years ago). If somebody knows.. thankss

  • Try the Trevino's repository.

    It contains brand new effects.

But do it your own responsibility, caz they're not official released packages for ubuntu gutsy.

  • You know what? I solved by installing xserver-xgl :P

  • Cool.

  • how do u get this.. does leopard do this.. cuz WOW..

  • actually, this is not what leopard can do.

leopard's bootcamp can make a fine double boot computer.

  • PLEASE READ THIS:

The message I sent you explains on how to do a dual boot between Ubuntu and Mac OS X.

    I haven't done a triple boot.

  • I'll send you a message explaining how I did it.

  • @goddesfreackz hi...how do you install ubuntu?by booting up the livecd?do you need the REFIT to triple boot?thanks..

  • Good job. Now you can start experiencing the awesomeness that is Ubuntu :)

  • I tried it out, worked like a charm.

    Thanks for the comment, though.

  • It doesn't make a difference whether you're using Snow Leopard or OS 9. You install it by booting up the LiveCD.

  • Could you do a video on how to install Ubuntu on a MacBook Pro using Snow Leopard?

  • yammmyammm, we gotta talk later. i have ubuntu set up on parallels desktop, but i wanna try putting it on bootcamp, so it can take up all my system resources without Mac using up any.

how much are you running: RAM, vcard, etc?

im sure you probly have answered this in the comments somewhere, but i dont feel like going back through them all to check.
