SAMSUNG EPIC 4G HOW TO INSTALL CLOCKWORKMOD 3.0.0.5 - ROOT FOR EXT4 W EDIFY

This video will show you how to install the newly ported CWM v. 3.0.0.5 to your Samsung Epic 4G, (this will automatically detect RFS and convert to EXT4 upon first boot in to CWM). Your old ROM will NOT function anymore after this installation, so ONLY use this if you are updating to an EXT4 ROM. This CWM is also Edify script friendly. Always BACK UP YOUR SD CARD!! Download the new CWM, run it, and you will be on EXT4, rooted, and have the new CWM 3!

Download USB drivers here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/SPH-D700ZKASPR

Download your new ROM (EXT4) and copy the file to the root of your SD card.

1) Unzip the new CWM zip file

2) unzip the USB drivers (only do this step if you have NEVER installed the drivers)

3) On your Epic, go to Applications, Settings, Applications, Development, and check the USB debugging mode box.

4) Plug in your USB cable

5) Open the CWM3 folder, and click "run".

6) Follow the on screen instructions

7) Your phone should reboot

8) Power down your Epic

9) Hold the Camera, Vol down, and power buttons at the same time until your screen starts backing up your system.

10) Wait. The backup, convert, and restore takes time.. Be patient.

11) After it is complete, you can NOT reboot anymore.. Your old RFS ROM will not work, you WILL boot loop if you try.

12) Now flash the new EXT4 ROM of your choice (that you already put in the root of your SD card from the begining. Flash by clicking on Install zip from SD card (Vol + / - scrolls up / down, camera is enter) Now click choose zip from SD card, and lastly click the zip file.)

13) DONE!! Enjoy your new EXT4 ROMs!! Flash away!

holy cow ok dont go blaming mr randy if something goes wrong use oden and get the tar file to froyo its also on utube easy fix shoot he even has a video on how to go back to stock froyo go watch that dont get mad people you are all doing this at your own risk sent from epic running froyo running supernova
