malcom x said that when you enslave, denigrate and generally de-humanize people of another race for centuries (as happened in the U.S.), THAT is racism. that group of people hating you for it - that isn't racism - it's self-preservation.
mr wise is exceptional: a white american who isn't in deep denial about the racism in which this country was incubated, built on, and remains immersed in. more of us need to acknowledge and speak this truth.
