This is an unsolicited review of the Nokian eNTYRE 225-65-17 for the 2009 Honda CR-V. There isn't much review data out there on this tire, so I thought others could benefit from this video.

These are the 1st set of replacement tires on this vehicle. The eNTYREs cost less than the Continental Contact 4x4s that were OEM on this vehicle, and were cheaper than Michelin Lattitudes in the same size. This evaluation comes after 5,000 miles of use in varied weather.

The tires were substantially quieter than the Contact 4x4s, and had excellent wet traction. They did tend to "track" on grooved pavement and did not yield any noticeable difference in gas mileage. Overall I would recommend these.

  • I put about 5000 miles on the tires before evaluating. During the 5000 miles, I saw no statistical difference with the Continental Contact 4x4s that were OEM in terms of gas mileage. During the 5000 miles, I had long and short trips as well. Any fuel economy comparison must keep as consistent as possible weather - temperature and wind conditions. Cold weather will severely hamper fuel economy as well as even a head-wind. I tried to statistically eliminate all variables in my comparison.

  • Fuel economy on a tire with low rolling resistance can only be measured with extended distance driving. I bought mine for a 2008 CRV and noticed when taking the same trip to my daughter's house some 800 miles away the prior tires I got 29.5 MPG after the entire install and the same trip I got average for trip 31.8 MPG.The tire is the only change made with the vehicle for I use cruse control most of the way.
