I'm all for having another dog. You should be careful and do your homework as far as integrating a new dog into your family. I strongly recommend Cesar Milan's book A Member of the Family. It has a good chapter on introducing new animals as well as lots of information on selecting the right dog as well as caring for etc.
Katie is doing GREAT. She has relaxed, put on a little weight, and is doing better on her daily walks. I even got her on the treadmill today!!! It took her a few minutes but she got the hang of it!! I noticed that she has been a little dog aggressive now. We had my stepdaughter here with a Jack Russell mix and she absolutely loved him and she was nicer to animals she met on our walks. Do you think that having another dog would be a good thing for Katie?
I let her grab her leash for a second but when we hit the door she stops. She is tough to walk because she pulls so hard. When I woke up today, she was outside laying in the sand in the sun. She is one happy dog. Our biggest obstacle is that she has a hard time playing so we are working on that.. She seems older than the 3 years old but that was from last year. I don't care though. I would rather adopt an older dog. They need it more. Keep up the great work. I will send pics!
I've been walking Kathy regularly for nearly six months. Very few volunteers were willing to walk her because of her compulsion to grab the collar or leash in her mouth going in and out of the kennel.
Kathy knows wait, sit, stay, leave it, and drop it. How well she obeys these commands is an entirely different issue! Feel free to email me if you have any questions about behavior, obedience etc. and send please post some photos! Thank you so much for springing Kathy!
I adopted her yesterday and what a blessing!!! She is so good and does not leave my side. She loves to take walks and we even went to PetSmart and we will be taking behavior classes soon so she can be the best dog she can. There are so many dogs there to adopt and I think the ASPCA is doing a great job. Thanks for Kathy!!!
i hope my pit bull fucking kills this stupid dog.
