Simplex 4903-9217 Fire Alarm Test

Testing the Simplex 4903-9217 horn/strobe combo. This is the first fire alarm I've ever bought. This particular alarm is run on 24 VDC. Although it has 4 terminals on the back (2 horn, 2 strobe), it doesn't matter what terminals you connect the wires to. The reason for that is because there are 2 jumper wires on the circuit board connecting both terminals together. I don't know why they did that, but my guess is that the system the alarm came out of was set to continuous, and it was done to reduce the number of wires that were needed to power the horn and strobe.

@simplexalarms16 Go to ebay and enter the keywords: simplex fire; or simplex horn. They have them listed off and on from time to time. I got lucky and got many of mine cheap. Just gotta be in the right place at the right time. Good luck!

this simplex and the horn is the same exact thing that one of my Elementary Schools used while I was there between 2001-03. Kewl!
