Fox news is reporting that the turkey he pardoned was muslim.

It doesn't matter about politics, or whether you like him or not. He's pardoning a turkey, which is one of the silliest traditions a president ever has to do. He did it with all the grace this event deserved, and threw in a humorous anecdote.

I searched for an overview of this tradition of pardoning turkeys that goes back to President Truman. It's good to find at least one thing to like about the current president. ;-)
