  • I saw a train one and I wish I had a camera! There must have been almost 200 wells on this intermodal train. It had 2 lead units (both AC4400's). Then 50 cars later a middle helper(ES44AC). Another 50 cars later, another middle helper (AC4400) and finally 60 cars later, an ES44AC DPU! 5 units altogether! This came through Kamloops, BC.

  • @westwick87 Yeah, That would have been 110 or 111, the massive 10,000 to 12,000 foot trains that they are trying to run now. Its only been 110/111 that have been consistently in that range, all the other trains are still anywhere from 5000 to 8000 feet.

  • Dam, I wish I got to see trains this long where I'm from, but that's never gonna happen. Nice Video.

  • Thanks!,

This is not normal here either. A typical grain train is 110 cars with 3 units, I think they're going to slowly start running trains around this length because they have now extended 2 sidings to 10,000 feet and have a total of 4 sidings over 9200 feet.

  • I feel sorry for the poor Carmen that have to inspect that train it would probably that 3 frickin hours.

  • haha yeah. I don't know where the train originated from with 168 cars. The crews were just about to change off when I got there and they gave their notice (10 hours) so Either they lifted cars somewhere en-route because even a train at that tonnage shouldn't take 10 hours to go 50 some odd miles on a quiet day. If they lifted cars then I feel sorry for the Conductor, but if it was like that then I feel sorry for the Carmen.

  • Great vid! I live in Calgary Cp rails hometown! The yard is bikeride distance from my house and i go to see the trains alot! I have alway LOVED The goverenments grain cars the best!!! The red colors are great!

  • I feel sorry for the crews going down the pass. That will have to put on 110 retainers on the first emergency and 168 hand brakes on the second.

  • yeah yeah yeah, Im just trying to rub it in that I still get train length and you dont Figuring it out it would've been almost 50 bucks.

  • Come on now, you totally missed the sarcasm here. Hint the freeking union sell out part.
