  • I don't understand why this song not was released as a single. In my opinion it's his best.

  • @TheGreatestRockSongs I'm not sure it's his best. But it certainly is deserving as being known as one of his best. It's a shame that it's a song that's so unknown by most people.

  • no one could get the conviction behind a song as good as meat loaf can. i have listened to his music all my life and i have seen him live he is Epic. when you listen to him close your eyes and realy listen its like he's talking the words to you like he would a personal story from his life. thats why meat loaf will always be heard by people around the world

  • Not one of his best but an excellent version, my preference is the Taylor Dayne version but this is a very close second.

  • he shoulda left the shadow stuff in it

  • You can split this song and make 3 different songs out of it ... and they all wound sound completely different. That's Jim Steinman songwriting. Too bad Meat and Jim do not team up for just one more album ...

  • @pscott90 Actually it's not his song so he couldn't publish it as a single, the original was recorded by "Pandora's Box" back in 1989 on the "Original Sin" album... I for one like the original better than Meat Loaf's version...

  • @pclarky007 original is not the only song on welcome to the neighbourhood written by jim steinman the other one is left in the dark if you believe me check it

  • @pclarky007 Jim Steinman wrote 2 songs on that album, he also did "Left In The Dark" aswell. But I do agree with the best song on the CD, and one of the best by Meat Loaf

  • Too bad they didn't do a duet of this with both Michael and Taylor.

  • @CDeanWatcher there was a band called Pandora's Box that did this song as well... it's pretty fracking awesome!!!!! If you like Taylor Dayne, you'll like that version as well!!
