Often times when we experience something traumatic we recover physically pretty well. However, we can' t know the deeper affect it can have on us into adulthood. So please request a referral from your Doctor so you can get down to where the experience may have buried itself. You don't want it to affect your relationships in the future. ;-)

I grew up in with a..not so great father. And it was years before he even got help. Only because friends finally intervened. And then it felt like everyone knew what I was going through/went through. Initially I felt ashamed but then realized that I didn't do anything wrong. It's never okay to physically/verbally hurt someone & no one should be subjected to that. I hope this encourages people to look out for one another.
