Tom Bombadil was the character deleted out of the LOTR movie. Here is an attempt by me to paint this mini according to JRR Tolkien's description in the book. I painted this mini using 3 different types of acrylics. I wrote an article about it here below.
http://quazen.com/arts/visual-arts/cheap-vs-expensive-acrylics-paint/

Part Two will follow up next. It will be Tom Bombadil and his completed diorama. So stay tune for that . You won't be disappointed.:)

I switch to a new editing software, so it took me longer to learn all over again. Hope everyone enjoy this 1st part especially mini painters. Peace and blessings to all.

  • I have been using cheaper craft acrylic paint for years, and have endure ridicule for it from other hobbyists as well. I cannot even go in my local game store to paint from all the laughing I get. Thank you so much for the aricle on using the less expensive paints. I find the color range is much broader and I can walk out of a craft store with 10 bottles of paint for less than $10, plus they last forever. Leaves me more money for models. I wish everyone could learn or admit to using this paint.

  • @carcon14 Majority of guys out there will say cheaper stuff won't work. Yeah, It's all in the mindset. It's all about thinking out of the box and experimenting. I'm glad I found my own unique medium to work with and hope you did too. It's a road less taken but worthwhile in the end. Thanks mate. Always have the mindset, "We can work it out"! or Yes we can! lol. :)

  • Wow great video. I really like the finall result. It's hard to beleive you only used like three colors per area and it looks perfect. I'm very impressed. Great job man.

  • Thanks man.;)

  • loved the mini, but whats the name of the song?

    Looks great !

  • Wow! Nice painting!

Folk Art paints have the strangest names...

    seriously? Teddy Bear Tan ?!

  • A majority of the time I cant tell the difference. I have always thought that if you knew what you were doing, it didn't matter. Also you need to do what you enjoy, if you are happy with the result who cares what someone else thinks. And GW is ripping off a lot of people. Why pay $8 for sprue cutters when a $2 pair of needle nose pliers work just as well.

  • Hey man, very impressive kind of work, nice technics to paint also ..

    pretty cool Tolkien figure.

    best requards
