  • I'd love to see her perform a longer reverse in that car, 'cos I love the sound of a stickshift car in reverse, me. :D

  • About what is said at the end: Don't try to brake by downshifting the engine. That's a holdover from very old days when cars had cable operated brakes, and it's just harder on your engine and transmission. Just give yourself double the stopping distance that you normally would with a disc brake car, and keep your eye on traffic ahead of you. Believe me, I know.

  • has she driven a car before? ;)

i would love a bug, my aunt has one sitting on her yard 1 owner original cond fairly rustfree body. such a waste sitting there! :(

  • @therebymorning i drive a mercedes diesel 1983. and by letting go of the throttel it does really good engine brake, + its compulsory to know "eco-driving" to get a licence in Sweden. i rarely use my brakes, not even when turning off a big road to a smaller one. ;)

sure it tears more on the engine but its effective and comfortable braking, and efficient for the fuel economy which is very strict here as i said.

  • @CockneyRebel1979 agreed! i wouldnt mind seeing that myself!

  • Get your steering box checked, my '72 made that sound when i turned the wheel, then, one day I had no steering at ALL (Turned out the steering box was rusted out ...I sold it for scrap)

  • As I commented in another video here on YT, you Americans have been blessed with many more cars on the line Volkswagen air cooled. We only had Beetles "plucked" and never know the 1302, the 181 "thing" the Typ 4, SquareBack, the VW Bus with sliding doors came here in 1996, with 30 years of delay. The electronic injection, only for the bus, came only in 1999, and the second generation model is still being produced, now with an engine running on ethanol and gasoline.

  • Agreed on the beetle transmissions feeling . . . uncertain. Whether you are in neutral or in gear, there is the same play on the shifter .Weird.

  • cant wait till 16 3 more year ughhh -_-

  • this captures the beauty of the beetle :) i can't wait to get one, but thank you for this vid!
