Plans are afoot to develop a huge, open pit coal mine on the northern outskirts of Palmer Alaska, in the midst of some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. The locals are beginning to fully organize awareness programs and political action. Local physician, Dr. Michelle Prevost, discusses the health effect of coal mining upon communities.
