On October 5, 2011 the NYS&W ran two separate NS 13T detour trains over the CNY and NYS&W Southern Division. This is due to crew shortages, massive slow orders, and flooding related repair work along the CP-Sunbury Line. The NYS&W has handeled a half dozen or so 13T's and more are expected to come.
This evening's train was originally lead by NS CW40-9 #9699, NS CW40-9 #8891, NS ES40DC #7641, UP C40-8 #9139 when it left Binghamton, NY, but two Susquehanna engines were added at Warwick over concerns about getting this 114 car, 2 mile long monstrosity, over Sparta Mountain. Engines added were NYSW #3018, and CEFX #3143.
This footage was shot alongside Main Street in Butler, NJ at approximately 9:30pm.
Nice shot! My video will be up in a few minutes. Oddly enough we were both at Sparta today and I didn't know who you were until afterwards. Nice meeting you.

Great catch! It feels so strange to see NS GEs on this line, and even stranger to see Union Pacific.

Great catch! Sadly I'm not around to get these. Oh I see we have another Darwin Award candidate at 0:32.
