The song was a remake of MULE SKINNER BLUES by the FENDERMEN . Do a search for the song... i never knew this as a kid but recognized the song about 10 years ago as the song in the Levi's commercials of my youth..

MikeMcCrashCap: "Perhaps Levi's is appealing to the young dope-heads in this commerical, by using absurd hallucinative imagery, but why are they using kids?"
Mike, the reason they're using kids for this commercial is because the ad is for Levi's Youthware.
I remember this commercial from when I was a kid. A better claymation-type ad from the same period is the one with the Tarzan-like character. If anyone has that, please shoot me a msg. Thanks!

You very well may be right. My own eyes didn't create what I just saw. There is a reason for everything, and an intentional message in all things intended. This commercial isn't a figment of mine or your imagination, but a purposeful, yet seemingly non-sensical, message(in abstract medium) about Levi jeans. Yet there are hidden values in advertizing as well. Perhaps Levi's is appealing to the young dope-heads in this commerical, by using absurd hallucinative imagery, but why are they using kids?

I hated this commercials because they would start airing them right before summer was to end and school was to start.. it meant it was time to go to Sears to buy clothes for School..
