  • NASA use it alot - so buy some!

  • grand illusions is where i got mine from.

  • @sp4d3n yep, check ebay ... nitinol / nickel titanium / memory wire

  • is it possible to buy this wire?

  • @badbosbo81 Nitinol Wire will amazingly shorten in length when electrically powered. It is easy to use, thin.Nitinol wire returns to its original length when it cools.

The direct linear motion of Muscle Wires offers experimenters a source of motion that is very similar to that of a human muscle, providing possibilities not available with motors or solenoids.

Nitinol Wire may be heated by any means, air temperature, hot water, or most commonly by running electric current through it.

  • because boiling water and electricity should be accessible to kids.

  • This has tremendous potential in the toy industry.

  • nitinol is a metal alloy that constricts when voltage is applied (when it is heated), and they've integrated it with textiles so the textiles can also have this property... hence, you see the fabric constrict when they apply voltage, here to create the effect of gills

  • what is going on??

    i don't under stand anything
