My older brother who was my hero and best friend dropped out of premed to enlist and served as a helicopter medic in Viet Nam. The first time he came back was on leave. Because he was booed and spit on at LAX, he changed into civies for the reat of his trip home. The second time he came home was in a coffin.
Please NO hate, I mean no disrespect. I just happened to land on this post and had to say how times have changed, I will ALWAYS respect the soldier but NEVER the war.

you should be very proud of him , which I'm sure you are.
Know also that people in Europe are so gratefull too. I'm a Belgian citizen and I feel nothing but pride for the US and its troops.
If it weren't for you, your fathers and grandfathers I would probably be speaking german now ...
