..and out of a 9 year career in the combat arms field the best officer I ever served under went to the University of Connecticut and was a journalism major. Not that the ring clackers where bad guys, actually a lot of the were very cool. But the guy who still stands out the most as the best officer I ever served under did not even attend the academy.

@Seraphimaltair Depends what you want to do in the military, but I went to the Air Force Academy and it sucks. If I were to do it over, I would have gone to West Point.

We use laptops. If you wanted a desktop you could probably get it approved, but you have to go through the process of getting it cleared for the WP network. This can be a hassle.

wtf i thought plebes were supposed to be miserable. well at least its reassuring that if the air force academy is the same way, and i get in some day, i wont be like in a mental hospital my sophomore 3rd clas year

If you're a smart plebe, you won't take life too seriously all the time. Misery can be dished out, but it only gets to you if you accept it. And this is obviously not representative of a normal day, so don't get any misconceptions.
