Twickenham Film Studios, 8th January 1969. A good performance in which John is, unfortunately, not participating. These tape contains the flamenco-style middle section. The song was played only on this day; it was recorded in its final form on 3rd January 1970, with the orchestral sections on 1st and 2nd April 1970.
Too bad they didn't release this as a final version. It's better than the final released version. That flamanco part is killer and shows George's improv. Might be why they didn't use it though since it WAS improv maybe he couldn't reproduce that twice the same way. The same way the solo on I saw her standing there was never the same twice.
