This film was prepared by a client and shown at RM Auctions' 2008 Sports & Classics of Monterey immediately before the sale of the 289 Cobra featured. Today, most remaining Cobras have undergone extensive restoration, but this example (CSX 2485) was discovered, as dramatized in the clip, in remarkably original condition. Bidders responded to this example's striking originality and provenance, and vied to own a piece of Carroll Shelby's automotive legacy. A more realistic scenario is that the farmer heard the cobra start up (because what decent farmer doesn't tend his crops during the day time). And then rode to the barn with his shot gun and blew both of those law breakers away...or knocked them out for his Human Centipede project.
