Friction, energy, gravity, and momentum are all needed to succeed in sports. Especially important is Newtons Law of Action and Reaction which states: for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Richard Garriott experiments with action and reaction in space by recreating a variety of sports motions in space.

  • What you would need to do is to launch yourself in a different direction (away from the end zone or other goal). Your momentum may be enough to redirect him away from goal.

    I've also considered sports on the Moon, and am currently working on one that would have runners, swimmers, and arm-flapping flyers.
