Bubbled under the Billboard Hot 100 at #101 in May 1963. Bill Justis was a successful record producer and arranger. He was also known for his big hit, "Raunchy", in the '50's. This recording was a #1 hit in Australia.

  • Not just the Aussies! From the UK I can remember this song twirling aroung in the early 60's on our record player. My dad was a merchant seaman and brought it home with him and I would think all of our family will remember listening to this song. Thanks so much for posting and for the memories!

  • This just popped out of nowhere and smacked us all in the face in '63... debuted at number 4 and the week after was at number 1 ! BIG SUPRISE considering it didnt even crack the top 100 in the US, i wonder who the girls are who sing on the track?

  • Yes, the radios played this to death back in '63, and we never failed to leap up and sway our hips and arms.....ahhh, such lovely memories....
