Totally agree with you.
We - in Germany - are currently working on a radio program about us trans people for an independent non-commercial local station to tell people how it is to be trans and how it feels to be put into a fucking wrong box of prejudices. We are not freaks...

Media uses peoples life stories to make money. They don`t give a shit about feelings or justice or compassion. The more the story is shocking the more they like to use a story to milk it for all they can get from it. How does that song go/ Oh! yeah! (We need Dirty landry). Lady V you don`t rant. I agree with retaining the original birth record, but for medical research purposes. The information that our original gender was, for example, male, will be useful for current and future medical research.
I agree with those who would like some method to suppress their birth gender to the general public, and I believe that therein, lies the compromise solution.
Also, we need to be honest with our record keeping and accurately report medical data. Suppression of such info is a mistake.

Outstanding video. I know it was directed to trans people but what you have to say applies to everyone that has been marked as different. (Try explaining pansexualism.) We are all communicating a message to others about ourselves.One to one and one to many is bottom line media. Sometimes it is hard to be calm and rational when someone that has no idea what they are talking insists on telling you how it is. Be passionate but be respectful. They might just hear you.
