Campag Boras, second hand for £800 plus Veloflex tyres and I was winning in three weeks for the first time in two years.I had bought a pair of Scirroccos just before last win and by this time the bearings were fooked, I wiilll never race a cheap pair of wheels again even though I cant afford them. You can run them at 140 psi even in the wet, at least I did and they never budged, hairy corners at speed , no problems and racing has become very exciting again.

Yes, I may have to dig the MTB but roadies are far nicer on the road.

You just saved me £35, great idea & works well. Also do you have the TAB for the guitar track. Cheers.

Hi, sorry for the 1 year late reply, I just saw your comment.
Don't have the TAB for the guitar mood music. But from listening, it's sus2 and 4 chords, arpeggios.

What kind of adhesive do you use to patch the tube and tire, and to re-affix the base tape?

If I remember correctly, it's the Genuine Innovations patch kit (very slim and tiny patch). I put a spot of household Super Glue on the puncture on the inside of tyre. Stiched up the tyre. Super Glue on the base tape. I only did that because the tyre was very new. All my tubulars only last 1000km. It's the heat that kills them.

I've just got a punctured tub. 13 bloody quid they are!! (26 USD). I can now see why they've fallen out of favour.

They're nice to ride on and tend to stay on the rim when they blowout.
I recently punctured new tubulars every 2 weeks. So I switched to Vittoria Rallys. Then I blew my budget after 4 changes. The road glass and screws on the roads ate all my tyres.
So now I'm back to cycling on the MTB spinning along on my knobbies.
