The FPGA-Elf is my entry for the 2010 RetroChallenge. It is functionally equivalent to the COSMAC Elf as presented in a series of construction articles in Popular Electronics in 1976-1977, but instead of using the original components, I have implemented a soft core processor equivalent to the original RCA CDP1802 microprocessor. The FPGA chip contains the soft core, 256 bytes of RAM, and control logic. Eleven toggle switches, one pushbutton switch, and two Avago hexadecimal displays are mounted on a "front panel" that is wired to I/O connectors of the FPGA board.
Looks very interesting, Can you share the VHDL? Please contact epldfpga@aol.com. Thanks
