In the UK we are all familiar with mixed recycling - cardboard, plastics, glass and metal all in one bin.

But what happens after it is collected? How is it separated? IWMS is one of the UK's leading Environmental Management Companies and has produced this video to show you behind the scenes.

  • @xFuJai thats odd, you arent separating compost waste yet. I say its odd because some places here in Ontario actually send that kind of material to New York state for composting.

  • Everything is separated by ourselves in New York. We have 3 bins, one for metals, one for plastic, and one for the rest of the garbage.

  • Why have they not recycling on soda bottles in plastic on canary island?

  • u saved my life ^_^ (i had a project due tomorrow and its about what happens to mixed recycling and i couldn't find anything soo now i found it soo yayz)thank you soo much
