@LbfamMRi95 Hey, He is right Areetha is the Queen of soul. Teena was know as Lady T and the IVORY queen of soul. Areetha adored Teena Marie big time. Areeth asked Teena personally to sing at her tribute. Teena sang Do right woman do right man. I'm just glad that god gave us both of these awesome ladies. Glad that Areetha is well and so sad that Teena has left us... So chill and enjoy what these ladies gave us....

@Orangesocksburst Hey Hey Hey, Chill out about the WHITE. I am a 44 heading for 45 and know everything about Teena. I was 12 when Wild and Peaceful came out and met her 3 times up close and personal. I sang fire and disire with her in Boston. Not the whole song but it was a dream come true. I get upset when people say white people don't really know of her. This white guy sure in hell does. From Behind the groove until her last song Can't last a day. RIP Lady T this white boy luvs U!

ppl need to realise how difficult it is for a white r n b singer to be fully accepted by african american fans...this woman was top class..her voice was so soulful ppl in US really had no choice..i was very young when she was doin her thing..i wish i was older so i couldve enjoyed her...

I have loved Ms Lady T's music "Since Day One" (true fans will get that!). She's my favorite soloist, hands down. Black, White, doesn't matter - she sang from the spirit, what else could ever matter??

teena marie is one of the greatest voices and one of the greats . she had so much soul when she sung you forgot she was white. In my opinion she was the best to ever sing on a microphone
