I applaud George for trying to create something new every time he plays, but damn does he sound bad sometimes, like on this clip.
He still nails it about 60% of the time, but that other 40% is tough to listen to.

NO...he can play live. What hes doing these days is almost playing in a "Free form" style. A rock equivalent of jazz. He just reaches his solo spot and goes for it. Sometimes it works, other times its crap.
Sadly, it often sounds like a blurb of flurried notes that say NOTHING.
George's solo pre 95 were great. He tried to be smart. school himself and it clashes with his wonderful and natural style.
I long for the day when he plays a-la The Hunter or Heaven Sent again.
