  • Point cloud based geo-location is the way forward. Could be much more accurate then gps, and give you the precise vector too.

  • It isnt. But seeing as how Microsoft hasnt done anything interesting with photosynth after a year, I welcome more companies using similar technology.

  • Another thing (if I understand this video right) is the possibility to use video's as well. Of course not (yet) in the 3d model but they can be integrated. Can't wait to get my hands on this phone!!!

  • One differentiator is the ability to browse scenery even thru a sparse network of photos, when there are no overlaps btw them. There are others as well, you can see some of them on this video.
